Slowly, EVER So Slowly

The fog is clearing. There are beams of sunshine peeking though. Better living though chemistry works for me. "Happy Pills" are a HUGE blessing. The holidays passed swiftly, too swiftly. And then I fell under the curse of some creepin' crud that lodged itself in my broncs and ears. AURGH! But... I'm on the mend.

I'm knitting dish clothes, as is my tradition for the first part of each year. This year I'm using the cotton yarns that I have rather than buying the lovely ecru or white cone AND I've got a LOT of colored cotton yarn. My immediate goal is to completely wipe out that cotton yarn stash. As of today I'm knitting on the 23rd dish cloth. And that in 11 days. Maybe I can finish the 24th? We'll see. LOL! I think I'm about half done, maybe. I'll have a supply stocked up for gifts and my own use! And NEXT year, I can start a totally new tradition for the first knitting of the year. Something more fun, like a sweater or socks or a lovely shawl. I certainly won't be needing more dish cloths for a veryVERY LONG time. HA! Love it!

Being sick has prompted me, JARRINGLY so, that my diet and exercise needs focused attention this year. The end goal is to be healthy and active AND be able to look fabulous in the lovely woolie sweaters that I dream of knitting up.

So, I KNIT on. Improving my speed and methods.

Another focus for this new year is to completely pay off my personal credit cards. (I think I can do it before the end of June, at the latest)  After that, I'll be able to help with other family debt. My reward? (other then the obvious lack of debtedness and monthly bills) When I get the first of my two credit cards paid off (this week!) I'll treat myself to the first in the Barbara Walker Knitting Treasury books. Then, half way through paying off the next credit card, I'll get the second. Finish off that card, then the third book becomes mine.

And. no new yarn. I want to focus on what I have and using that. I have lots. ;-) My focus for knitting this year will be socks. Lots of new hand-knit socks. The very first pair that I knitted have worn out in the heels, rather than mourn, it's time to pick up those itty-bitty needles and get busy. I LOVELOVELOVE hand-knit woolie socks...and sweaters,,, and... LOVE WOOL!

ONWARD! Pictures coming of the ever-expanding dish cloth stash.

KNIT ON!
